Greenmead Community Garden Plots

This year Vic and I rented a garden plot (24 x 24) for $25 at Greenmead Community Gardens.

It has been a lot of hard work but we are really having some fun with it.

There are about 240 rented garden plots.
That's a lot of organic veggies growing!

We planted: red & yellow onions, celery (cause Vic thought it was parsley when he bought it), squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, bush beans, green & red peppers, swiss chard, cabbage, broccoli, spinach, several different kinds of lettuce, carrots & different kinds of hot peppers.

This is a picture of our plot soon after we planted. The soil has a lot of clay in it. There is water available by hose and lots of sun! We are going to have a rain barrel.

Very cool! I am renting a plot for the first time this year. I am super excited! I think you're the only one to post pics online. Nice to see what it looks like :) - Katie from gardenhoard.com
